2007年新生接机最新安排

亲爱的新同学：

　　大家好！

　　在这热情如火的季节，你是否同所有即将奔赴一片全新天地的同学一样，正在为即将到来的远行进行繁忙的筹备？你知道吗？为了更好的迎接你的到来，在大洋彼岸的美国，在芝加哥，在 IIT，有许许多多的老师和同学在为你精心准备各项入学报到服务；在中国，在北京，在 IIT 中国办公室，我们也在同样积极为所有即将赴美的同学提供贴心服务，联系接机事宜。

　　经过 IIT 全体成员的不懈努力，我们将携手 IIT 中国学生学者联合会（ CSSA-IIT ）和 IIT 国际学生中心，为广大新同学提供免费接机服务。具体实施细则和服务流程请参见以下“接机通知”。

Dear All New Students,

Greetings from Chicago! Warmest welcome from CSSA (Chinese Students and Scholars Association)-IIT! As time going by, new students will arrive at IIT following their schedule. We CSSA are now planning airport pickup. Here is the schedule and rule, please read it carefully.

1) For students who will arrive Chicago O'hare International Airport (ORD) from Aug 11th to Aug 20th (EXCEPT Sunday), please take IIT shuttle bus back to IIT. CSSA-IIT will have volunteers meeting you at IIT campus.

Please go to the following website to register for Shuttle bus pickup:

Attention: when you fill in pickup register form of International Center, please also fill CSSA-IIT's register form on www.cssa-iit.org so that we can have a basic idea how many new students to pickup ON CAMPUS at the Shuttle Bus Stop.

The shuttle bus time is 11am, 3pm and 7pm. If your flight arrives after 6pm in the evening, you might not catch the Shuttle bus and you should see the following for help.

2) For those students who arrive at Chicago beyond date & time mentioned above, please go to www.cssa-iit.org to fill in the register form, telling us your effective phone number, E-mail address, flight info ( these are important! ) and we will arrange volunteers pick you up at the airport. After we get your information in our database, we will give you phone call/Email to confirm your information about 5 days before you leave. Since there are a large number of new students coming this semester, please wait patiently. If you did not get our response 2 days before you leave, send us Email via zzhang35@iit.edu or xwang71@iit.edu , leave all the information of yours ( important! ), we will contact you ASAP.

We just update our database www.cssa-iit.org, so please re-fill register form after July 10th 2007 (if you filled the form before July 10th, please re-fill it! It is important!!)

3) We STRONGLY suggest you find place to live BEFORE you leave China. Please prepare your destination address and show it to the volunteer picking you up. We CSSA-IIT are NOT responsible for any kind of settle-down problem of new students. Thank you for your kind understanding! We also suggest you find your friends/lab guys/relatives here to pick you up in order to reduce our burden.

4) Airport pickup from CSSA-IIT is free for new students. CSSA-IIT will provide fund to volunteers. We are trying our best to finish this huge job, we cannot guarantee though. Please understand us! You must fill register form before Aug 11th, 2007, or you might pay for the pickup fee by yourself ($15/person) since our funding is limited.

5) Please keep an eye on all your belongings during your travel and after you settle down. Safety is always the first issue you should pay attention to. In case there is anything dangerous happen, turn to police/airport staff/friend/CSSA-IIT for help immediately.
